The 10 daily habits to Be Radiant
These are the 10 habits that have been distilled from the Ayurvedic guidelines for "dinacharya" or daily routine. They may appear simple, but can be difficult to get a handle on given our busy lives. When mastered, the habits are incredibly potent medicines that have profound effects on all levels of being: body, mind and spirit.
Habit 1 - Earlier, Lighter Dinner
Eat the right kind of dinner at the right time and you’ll have a better rest at night. Support your body in burning fat rather than waking up with a food hangover. Habit 2 - Early to Bed An effective bedtime routine guarantees a good night’s sleep. Never compromise on the quality of your sleep. Reverse engineer your deep rest and start the day with brightness. Habit 3 - Early to Rise Tap into the potentiality of the morning by starting your day early. Set the tone for a great day with a sound morning routine that has been practiced in traditional cultures all over the world for many generations. Habit 4 - Breath Body Practices Air out your physical and energy body each day for connection and lightness. Bring the right kind of movement for your body into your daily routine. Habit 5 - Healthier Eating Guidelines Nurture your digestive fire and optimize your digestion for better function of your entire system. Your digestion is your truest ally in maintaining health. |
Habit 6 - Self-Massage
Enhance circulation, detoxification and nourishment with a daily rub down. Awaken your inner healing powers! There are lots of creative ways to do this, and it is a self-care practice that you will grow to love. Habit 7 - Sitting in Silence Take a few minutes each day to sit and do nothing. It is known to bring down stress and increases overall satisfaction. It is the key to unlocking your intuition and finding alignment in all aspects of your life. Habit 8 - Intelligent Eating Eat more plants! You don’t have to be vegetarian, just add in foods that are lighter and more alkaline to make you feel alive and vibrant. Habit 9 - Sense Organ Care Learn how to take care of your sense organs so they last through old age. Ayurveda has techniques for cleansing and nourishing each of the 5 sense organs. Habit 10 - Easeful Living Choose an orientation of ease through your day. Easier said than done, I know, but simply by aligning with natural rhythms and cultivating deeper self-connection, this habit can be as easy as any other. |
